The Rochester FIRST Lego League (FLL) Rumble is a Lego League competition in March around St. Patrick's Day that is organized and hosted by team 1511 Rolling Thunder. Team 1511 believes that it is crucial to teach middle school aged children the importance of science aend technology which is why the Rumble is so important to our team. FLL teams are geared towards children ages nine through fourteen and helps to instill such values as gracious professionalism, cooperation, and hard work while incorporating the fun and excitement of a competitive sport. The March competition allows students to work on their robots after their December competition to add new functionalities and learn new programming techniques.

The Rochester Razzle Dazzle is a pre-FLL regional event held on November 26 that was organized, planned, held, and run by 1511 members this year. The purpose of this event is to provide FLL teams with the opportunity to test, change, and perfect their robots prior to the Rochester Regional. 1511 students and mentors loved helping out the FLL teams and getting to see how far they had progressed. And with the help of other FLL teams, 1511 students, mentors, and parents many FLL teams had a chance to work on their robots and made more progress in five hours then they would have in a weeks worth of build sessions, due to the great amount of resources the Razzle Dazzle provided!
