How to post things in the Calendar Section
« on: September 03, 2009, 11:14:56 PM »

This tutorial explains how to post events to the calendar, and make forum posts about the events.
If you have an idea for an event, please share it with the leadership team and/or adult Team Leader (Larry) to get it approved and posted.  The Activities Coordinator student leader (Jason K.) is the primary maintainer of this forum and the calendar.

~~For Moderators~~

1. Click the Date on the Calendar you want to set a date for.

2. This takes you to the "Post Thread" page on the forums.

3. Type in the event name under "Event Title".  Do not put the event date, or the year of an annual event, in the Event Title field; it makes the calendar look cluttered and redundant.

4. Under "Subject" Type the event name AND date (i.e. Josh's Birthday Party - 5/19)

5. Give a brief description of what the event is

6. Include a Time

7. Include a location and room number

8. Include directions if needed (anywhere besides PHS)

9. Include what is needed and a sign-up for things you need

10. Include important facts (i.e. Wear your team gear or bring a raincoat, or bring safety glasses)

~~For Everyone~~

As updates on your event continue to pop up, please post the updates on the thread so EVERYONE is on the same page. Even if the Activities Coordinator created the Thread, you can still post after it. If something is unknown at the time of the post use TBD (To be decided) as a fill so that people know the information is still being acquired. The forums Calendar is one of the best ways to let everyone know what's going on in detail and they are all linked on our team email. Thanks for all your help!
