Thanking our Sponsors - 2011!!
« on: May 04, 2011, 11:22:02 AM »

I sent an email to Eric Wilson of LIND electronics this morning, thanking them for the DC-DC adapters that helped power our scouting system.  For those of you that didn't hear, it was a donation of over $900 in equipment!!

I've attached the Thanks files (so they can be used for other sponsors) & posted the email here.  Students, if you got some good sponsors this year, some personalized emails like this go a LONG way.  I have kept in touch with Eric for years (throughout my career at Harris & Draper), and it often pays off in donations like this!

Our Robotics Team’s competition season has finally come to an end this past weekend, and I just wanted to send you guys at LIND a HUGE thank you for the donation of the Laptop DC-DC converters.  They worked perfectly with our Marine battery setup and allowed us to power the laptops for the entire competition with no issue!  I’ve attached a little thank you poster, our design & some photos here for you guys to check out!

Our stickers came out a little more transparent than we would have liked, but I wanted to send you some photos so you can see the LIND sticker we put on the robot:
(Fortunately the LIND sticker was right over where we had our wireless router, so it got a white background in many views!)

Here is our Team Photo:
(Im down on the left of the white tube  :))

And our Laptop Setup:
(I think I have a picture of the LIND adapters being used with the Marine batteries, but it looks like its not posted yet, I will send that along too if I find it! They are unfortunately just out of the picture here, but they are powering the laptops we are using!)

The team had a great time at the Finger Lakes Regional (Rochester NY), Washington DC Regional, and the Championships in St. Louis! and the Black Eyed Peas performed at the Championship, and Morgan Freeman came to speak at the event (as well as executives from Boeing, Autodesk, PTC, etc!!).  There is a special set to Air on CNN on May 15th called “Education in America: Don’t Fail Me”, and a special called airing on ABC on August 14th.

Thanks again for your support – much appreciated!
