We had a great turn out today at the carwash and had a steady rate of customers piling in one by one. Thanks to all the team members that came out and helped wash! We even had three alumni stop by (Rika, Tresten & Dan). Surprise visits of Kim and Eric encouraged us even more.
Thank you to all our friends, family and local supporters that have had their car washed by Rolling Thunder!
See you next season!
Today, the team was invited to a session of karate hosted by a team sponsor--Martial Arts of America! We spent a good 40-45 minutes practicing a few self-defense moves taught by Sensei (teacher) Matt. It was a ton of fun and we hope that they invite us again sometime, thank you for the lesson!
Today, a majority of 1511 mentors, parents and teachers attended a luncheon at Harris to receive recognition for their time and effort put into the Penfield Robotics team. Student members Theo, Crystal and Becca shared their story as to how they came across joining the team and how they have been affected.
Thank you Harris, Mentors, Parents, Teachers and other participating members who we could not do this without!
While it seems as though most local FRC teams have broken away from the 2010 Breakaway season, our team has been busy re-building the Breakaway field in preparation for the 2010 Monroe County Fair that will run July 14th-18th! Along with other teams, we will be exhibiting matches for the community all day, and hope to see you there!
The weather was wonderful, and the picnic site was amazing! Families began to fill in at about noon and there was a variety of food! There were hot dogs, burgers and salads as well as bean casseroles and a variety of fruit dishes and chip dips! At the other end of the table there were desserts like pie, brownies, green fluff, coconut dessert and cookies!
The kids spent the day outdoors whacking a pinata, launching and throwing water balloons, playing catch phrase, and boccie!
Thanks to all the families, friends & sponsors that came out to enjoy a day of fun and entertainment!
Some great photos have been posted on Smugmug!
