Tonight’s Blog Entry is written by Student Leader, Crystal.
It was an easy day for us this evening as we enjoyed our delicious taco dinner thanks to Andy’s family! Mentor Larry recapped on our weekend designs and explained the results from our team’s weighted objective tables which we filled out on Sunday. Our webcast started at 5:45pm and Dean’s list Finalist, Brandon was there to join us for our second session! He has become a frequent watcher, and happily offers up suggestions and opinions.
We went over each component again, discussing the pros and cons of the elements, like our 330 degree arm mechanism which was weighted the best. Theories about speed were discussed like “how long would it take to raise from point “a” to b”?” and it continued. Around 7:30pm, Brandon notified us of the first Team Update for LOGOMOTION! And what do you know, as we all called it: launching the mini-bot has been ruled out!
A beneficial ruling with the new update is that the cylinder constraint was expanded from 60” to a whopping 84”! Hooray!
We also split off into our build season subteams and more focused groups were created! Like the mini-bot party.
We’ll see YOU tomorrow at 6pm!
Two photos to make up for yesterday!
