This month for my monthly 1511 memory, I’m remembering these past preseason team meeting. This was really one of my favorite preseasons because of our great activities during team meetings. I specifically really liked our mock build season activity, Team Fortress 3, where we divided up into 2 alliances of 3 teams and constructed cardboard forts to use in a highly developed game of capture the flag. I had the opportunity to make a game from the ground up, and I learned a lot about what it’s like having to try to make a game with no holes. I now have a lot more appreciation for the Game Design Committee, and I really understand how hard it is to make a perfect flawless game. After dealing with tons of strategies that targeted holes in the rules (cough, cough, Mark Mascadri, cough, cough), I will never again propose strategies that lawyer the rules of the game.
