Well, we’ve completed our first regional competition! After three long, hard, but extremely fun days, we finished out the weekend feeling very good about where we were! Our robot finished ranked 6th, and we teamed up with another local Penfield team #1405 (Finney Falcons) and also #48 (Team E.L.I.T.E.) on the fourth place alliance. Unfortunately, we were eliminated in the quarter finals, but not before we put all three robots on the mid-bar in end-game. Wouldn’t it be nice if FIRST gave style points?
We were also awarded the Excellence in Engineering Award, Our very own Nick V. was announced as a Dean’s List Finalist, and our fearless leader, Larry Lewis, received the Volunteer of the Year award! Overall, it was a very successful competition. We won’t get much rest, however – we’ll be travelling on to the Greater Pittsburgh Regional next weekend, so we’ve got a lot to do in a short amount of time!
