Posted by Team Captain Crystal:
It was a tad unusual for us to stroll into school this evening. We usually never have Friday sessions until towards the end of the buildseason! We enjoyed several pans of fresh baked ziti and an assortment of cookies provided by Tom’s family. Thanks, it was delicious!
After briefly announcing the second Team Update, subteams broke up into their designated groups and began more work! Tonight, we saw many of our mechanical, electrical and programming groups working well, keeping a steady pace. It looks like the mini-bot prototype is almost done too! One of our other mechanical groups was working on the concept of our design team #1’s manipulator with the rollers and band.
Looks like we’re running steady so far, our drivetrain team has completed the 6WD model, built the transmissions, and tomorrow they will begin putting the pieces together… parts are ordered too!
It was a good turn out tonight, even on short notice. We had 20-30 members here today helping to make up for the hours lost when we were snowed out! Mentor Dean had a whole list of things for the electrical team to do, and having a goal proved for better results when we saw more additions to the mock electrical board!
Less than one hour until we close up here! The only remaining members are still engulfed in the mini-bot prototype, and Mentor Larry is typing away at his laptop, recording daily reports from today!
Mentor Mark and Team Captain Crystal will hopefully webcasting from Edison tech tomorrow starting at 9am, and if there’s no internet, Larry will webcast at 1511’s base starting around 11am.
See you then!
